Ready, Set, Print!

Hello Again everyone!

Sorry it's been so long since my last update, and during such an important month!

To be honest, I have exciting news, but it's also rather anticlimactic, at least visually speaking.
Last week on the 11th of October I officially approved all of the files for print! I had submitted the files a few days earlier, but the printer I'm working with got back to me with a few edits that needed to be made before things were good to go.

What all of this means is that the clock for having actual decks in my hands has begun ticking, and the anxious nail-biting can begin!

I had intended to have these files submitted and approved for print a few weeks earlier, but the process of reconsidering the card and box designs delayed things slightly. I feel strongly that it was worth it, but I am sorry to say that the timeline is currently estimated to be 4-7 weeks out from now. When I have a more accurate timeline from the printer, I will share that here.

While that means I will miss the Halloween deadline (boo) I am still hopeful to mail out decks in time for the winter holidays. I will be crossing my fingers anxiously until then!

Overall I feel pretty good about my rough estimate of the timeline for this project, even though I wish I could have worked faster. In the end, I suspect I will be glad I took a little extra time to make something I can be proud of. While I have worked under plenty of illustration deadlines without trouble, I have never worked under a deadline that applies to a project quite like this before. I am feeling well educated by my experience, to say the least.

And so, sadly, that is all I have for everyone in this update. No new pictures (though I have asked for photos of the decks once they are printed, so hopefully I'll have those soon) and no shocking changes. Just waiting...

In the meantime, I'll be working on creating a shop for the tarot decks, as previously mentioned. Thank you to everyone who shared their ideas for extra things I might want to stock in that.

Also in the works are frames for the court card paintings, which will be sent home to the backers at that tier once the decks arrive. I may share my very strange framing process on here, in case it's of interest to anyone.

The last thing I will be doing is....resting?

Maybe. Whatever that means.

There will be more updates  as things develop, but until then, please enjoy this chaotic collection of photos, as I've been feeling pretty chaotic lately:

And that is all I have for you!

Until next time, thank you all very much!

Sincerely,

Claire
